1. Brief introduction

The RTU5012 GSM AC Power Monitoring Alarm unit special for monitoring 100~240V AC power status by SMS text message, it integrated high performance GSM Module and AC Power Status monitoring circuit inside, while AC power goes off, will send alert SMS (AC Power Goes off) to the authorized number immediately, and while the external AC power goes on, will send another alert SMS (AC Power Goes ON) to the authorized number immediately. Moreover,RTU5012 will send an alert SMS (Backup Battery low voltage) to the authorized number immediately when the backup battery voltage lower than 3.6V. It includes internal large capacity rechargeable battery which can standby up to 8 hours after AC Power failure. NO NEED ANY OTHER DETECTOR! The user can inquiry the AC Power Status from mobile phone in anywhere by SMS or call in from the authorized number, No call charges for inquiry. RTU5012 rejects phone call from authorized number list then return onsite AC Power Status by SMS on the first ‘ring’.

Quickly installation, just connect the AC/DC Adaptor (100~240V AC to 12V DC) with the RTU5012, and send few SMS to setup the authorized number are finished the settings.

6. Initialize/Reset the RTU5012

The RTU5012 can be reset to factory default once mistake programmed. please follow below steps to initialize it. After initialized, the parameters will set as factory default.

1) Switch OFF the RTU5012 and insert the SIM Card firstly, connect the battery;

2) Press the RESET button, do not release it;

3) Switch ON the RTU5012, holding 5seconds, after heard 1 Second Di sound alert then release the RESET button.

4) Restart the RTU5012 then will enter to work mode.

7. Programming SMS

Notice:

1. The default Password of RTU5012 is 1234.all 1234 on the below SMS commands should be change to your new password after you changed (except the item7.1)

2. Before powered on the RTU5012, please insert the SIM Card, after power on the unit, the buzzer will alert by 1 long Di sound to alert, if the MCU cannot communicate to the GSM Module or not find out the SIM Card or SIM card installed failure or no GSM signal, the RTU5012 will restart automatically.

3. All the settings are through SMS commands, please edit the below SMS commands in your cell phone, then send to the RTU5012. The unit cannot support PIN Code Protected SIM Card.

4. You can program the RTU5012 with SMS commands using your phone. It is safe to do so because in addition to the fact that other people may not know the number of the SIM card inserted in it, we also use a Password that makes it impossible for anybody, who doesn’t know it, to access the system by chance. 5. Remember that commands must be CAPITAL LETTERS. It is AA not aa, EE not ee etc. Don’t add spaces or any other character.

6. In some GSM operators they use different SMS parameter; the units can’t return the SMS confirmation in some GSM operators, but it can performance the functions correctly. Also, you can try to add the country code before the number, see the below settings:

7. If the password is correct but the command is incorrect, the RTU5012 will return: SMS Format Error, Please check Caps Lock in Command! So please check the Command, or add the country code before the telephone number or check the input is in ENGLISH INPUT METHOD and CAPS LOCK. If password incorrect then will not any response SMS.

8. Once the RTU5012 received the SMS Command, will return SMS to confirmation, if there have no SMS return, please check your command or resend command again.

9. The SMS commands that you will certainly use in the RTU5012s are the following:

7.1 NEW PASSWORD SETTING

*new password: 4 digitals, no space or special symbol, must be 0~9 only. For example, 1234P6666 is for setting new password as 6666.

NOTEICE:

1.The letter P, A,M,B,AA,BB,#3# or others on below SMS command list is the identification character, can not change to any other letter.

2. All white color letters on SMS command list could be change to suitable content as per you need.
